Overview

Yamoa is a dietary supplement derived from the ground bark of the *Funtumia elastica* tree, also known as the West African silk-rubber tree. It is traditionally used in West Africa for respiratory ailments and is marketed globally for the support of conditions such as asthma and hay fever. The product is composed of 100% pure bark powder and contains active constituents including polysaccharides (specifically the Yam-I fraction), anthocyanins, tannins, and flavonoids. Peer-reviewed research suggests that Yamoa's polysaccharides function by priming gamma-delta T cells and enhancing innate immune responses, which may help modulate allergic respiratory inflammation. It is commercially available in both powder and capsule forms but is not approved by the FDA as a pharmaceutical drug.
