Yanae

Yanae is a non-hormonal copper intrauterine device (IUD) developed by 49Care for long-term contraception. The device is a T-shaped Cu 380 model that provides protection for up to 5 years by releasing copper ions into the uterine cavity. These ions create a spermicidal environment and induce a local inflammatory response that prevents fertilization. A key feature of Yanae is its CrossGlide inserter, which utilizes inflatable membrane technology to self-navigate the cervical canal, aiming to provide a gentle, atraumatic insertion without the need for traditional instruments like tenaculum forceps. It is available in standard and mini sizes and was launched in Canada in January 2025.
