Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yanghe Dingchuan Ointment is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a 'Gao Fang' (herbal paste) designed to treat chronic respiratory conditions by warming Yang and calming wheezing, drawing from the classic Yanghe Tang and Dingchuan Tang formulas. The ointment is primarily investigated as an adjunctive oral therapy for Asthma-COPD Overlap Syndrome (ACOS), where it is added to standard-of-care triple-inhaled therapy (budesonide, glycopyrronium, and formoterol). Clinical evaluation focuses on its ability to improve lung function, reduce the frequency of acute exacerbations, and alleviate symptoms in patients with a TCM pattern of Yang deficiency.
