Overview
Yanghe Pingchuan Granule (YPG) is a traditional Chinese medicine herbal formulation developed and prepared by the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine and also associated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine[1][2][3]. It consists of nine herbs, including Ephedra sinica, Rehmannia glutinosa, Inula japonica, Morinda officinalis, Schisandra chinensis, Sinapis alba, Draba nemorosa, Angelica sinensis, and Platycodon grandiflorus[1][2]. YPG is primarily used for the treatment of bronchial asthma and other inflammatory lung diseases. Its mechanism involves inhibition of airway inflammation by blocking the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway and reducing pyroptosis in bronchial tissue[1][8]. Additional studies suggest it mitigates oxidative stress and regulates immune responses to improve asthma symptoms[4][5]. The preparation has been used clinically for several decades in China for respiratory conditions such as asthma.
