Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yangshengguo Guanxin is a pharmaceutical preparation developed by the Institute of Regenerative Medicine at Jilin University, primarily composed of total flavonoids extracted from the sea buckthorn fruit (*Hippophae rhamnoides*). It is specifically indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary heart disease and angina pectoris. The drug functions by dilating coronary arteries to increase myocardial blood supply, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, and inhibiting platelet aggregation to prevent thrombus formation. Additionally, its potent antioxidant activity helps protect vascular endothelial cells and mitigate oxidative stress-induced damage to the cardiovascular system. In China, it is regulated as a proprietary Chinese medicine and is widely used for its cardioprotective properties.
