Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yangwei granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used in China for the treatment of gastric disorders, including chronic gastritis and dyspepsia. The formulation typically consists of a blend of herbal extracts such as *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Baishao), *Atractylodes macrocephala* (Baizhu), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gancao). It is traditionally indicated to "nourish the stomach," alleviate gastric pain, and regulate gastrointestinal motility. In contemporary clinical research, Yangwei granule is being investigated as an adjunctive therapy to antibiotics like rifaximin for the treatment of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Its therapeutic effects are attributed to its ability to modulate the gut microbiota, provide mucosal protection, and improve gastrointestinal functional recovery.
