Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yangxinshi Pian is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound formulation composed of 13 herbal ingredients, including Astragalus membranaceus (黄芪), Codonopsis pilosula (党参), Salvia miltiorrhiza (丹参), Pueraria lobata (葛根), Epimedium brevicornum (淫羊藿), Crataegus pinnatifida (山楂), Rehmannia glutinosa (地黄), Angelica sinensis (当归), Coptis chinensis (黄连), Corydalis yanhusuo processed with vinegar (醋延胡索/延胡索炙), Ganoderma lucidum (灵芝), Panax ginseng (人参) and Glycyrrhiza uralensis roasted with honey ("炙甘草") among others[1][4][5][6][8]. It is formulated as a film-coated tablet. The main clinical indications are for symptoms associated with "Qi deficiency and blood stasis" such as chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and precordial stabbing pain. It is widely used in the management of coronary heart disease angina pectoris and related cardiovascular conditions[1][4][5]. The mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—tonifying Qi, promoting blood circulation, resolving blood stasis and relieving pain. Modern pharmacological studies suggest it may improve myocardial energy metabolism, enhance coronary circulation and exert anti-ischemic effects; however, specific molecular targets are not well defined in Western pharmacology. Clinical safety data indicate a low incidence of adverse drug reactions[1].
