Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yangxinxue granule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Qionglai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of chronic heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), a condition where the heart muscle contracts normally but the ventricles do not relax as they should during ventricular filling. According to TCM theory, the granule works by nourishing the heart blood and promoting blood circulation to resolve stasis. Clinically, it has been studied for its ability to improve cardiac diastolic function, reduce levels of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and enhance the exercise capacity and quality of life of patients. The formulation typically consists of a combination of herbal extracts known for their cardioprotective and anti-fibrotic properties, including *Astragalus membranaceus* and *Salvia miltiorrhiza*.
