Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yangyin Huoxue Recipe is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus nephritis (LN). The recipe is formulated based on the therapeutic principles of nourishing Yin (Yangyin) and promoting blood circulation to resolve stasis (Huoxue). It typically contains a combination of herbs such as *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Scrophularia ningpoensis*, and *Salvia miltiorrhiza*. In clinical practice, it is used as an adjuvant to standard Western therapies (e.g., corticosteroids and immunosuppressants) to enhance therapeutic efficacy, reduce disease activity as measured by the SLEDAI score, and minimize the adverse effects associated with long-term steroid use.
