Overview

YangYinFang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Professor Liu Jia-xiang at Longhua Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically indicated for the maintenance treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients diagnosed with "Yin deficiency syndrome" according to TCM diagnostics. The formulation is administered as oral granules and is composed of two distinct TCM recipes: a "benefiting Yin" recipe and a "detoxication" recipe. In clinical trials, it is evaluated for its ability to prolong progression-free survival and overall survival when used in combination with or following standard chemotherapy regimens (such as gemcitabine, pemetrexed, or docetaxel). Its therapeutic approach is based on TCM principles of restoring internal balance and clearing toxins to inhibit tumor growth and improve patient quality of life.
