Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yangyinwenyang formula (YYWY) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal combination investigated for its anti-tumor effects, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Preclinical studies have shown that YYWY induces apoptosis in lung cancer cells and significantly inhibits tumor growth in mouse models. Mechanistically, YYWY enhances immune response by promoting the maturation of dendritic cells via MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways. This leads to increased secretion of cytokines such as IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-12, and TNF-α by dendritic cells. The matured dendritic cells subsequently stimulate T cell proliferation and differentiation into Th1 helper T cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), increasing the Th1/Th2 ratio. These immunomodulatory actions are believed to contribute to its anti-cancer activity[2][1]. The specific herbal composition of the formula is not detailed in available sources.
