Overview

YCT2-2 is an **arylpiperazine derivative** investigated for its ability to lower intraocular pressure (IOP), particularly in animal models of glaucoma and experimentally induced ocular hypertension. In studies conducted on rabbits, YCT2-2 administered as a topical ophthalmic solution resulted in a significant reduction of IOP both in normal recovery and alpha-chymotrypsin-induced glaucoma models. The compound demonstrates high solubility in acidic conditions, which may contribute to its efficacy as an IOP-lowering agent. Its precise mechanism of action is not described, but it is classified within the group of arylpiperazine derivatives known to affect ocular pressure, and it is not currently associated with systemic or other therapeutic indications[1].
