Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YD02-2022 is a small molecule dual inhibitor of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and Tie2 (TEK tyrosine kinase) currently under development by YD Life Science. By targeting both the VEGF and Tie2 pathways, the drug aims to address pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage, which are hallmark features of retinal vascular diseases. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and wet age-related macular degeneration. Unlike many current therapies that require intravitreal injection, YD02-2022 is being explored for potential oral administration, which could significantly improve patient compliance and reduce the burden of frequent ocular injections.
