YD0743 is an investigational small molecule protease inhibitor developed by Shanghai Yidian Pharmaceutical Technology Development Co., Ltd. It is currently in Phase II clinical development for the treatment of sepsis-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The drug is administered as a 24-hour continuous intravenous infusion via a micro-infusion pump. YD0743 primarily functions as a neutrophil elastase inhibitor, targeting the enzyme responsible for degrading lung tissue and promoting the inflammatory cascade during severe sepsis and respiratory failure. By mitigating the activity of neutrophil elastase, the therapy aims to reduce pulmonary edema, improve oxygenation, and shorten the duration of mechanical ventilation in critically ill patients.
