Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yeastvite is a traditional over-the-counter stimulant and tonic formulation primarily marketed in the United Kingdom for the relief of fatigue and tiredness. The product's primary active ingredient is caffeine, a methylxanthine that functions as a non-selective adenosine receptor antagonist, thereby promoting wakefulness and cognitive alertness. This stimulant effect is complemented by a complex of B vitamins, including thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), and niacin (B3), which serve as essential cofactors in the cellular metabolic pathways responsible for energy production. Originally developed by the Beecham Group and currently managed by Lanes Health, Yeastvite is indicated for temporary use to provide a "pick-me-up" during periods of physical or mental exhaustion.
