YH01 is an investigational gene therapy developed by Beijing InnoFuture Biopharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). It utilizes a non-replicating recombinant human adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) vector engineered to deliver the human interferon alpha-2b (IFNα2b) gene directly to the bladder epithelium via intravesical instillation. Once the vector enters the target cells, it facilitates the local synthesis and secretion of IFNα2b, creating a high-concentration microenvironment that exerts direct antiproliferative effects on tumor cells and stimulates a robust local immune response. This approach is specifically designed for patients who are unresponsive to standard Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) therapy, offering a localized treatment that aims to maximize therapeutic efficacy while minimizing the systemic side effects typically associated with systemic interferon administration.
