YH1

YH1 is an investigational oral concentrated traditional Chinese herbal-extract granule formula developed for type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains equal proportions of **Rhizoma Coptidis** and **Shen-Ling-Bai-Zhu-San**, a multi-herb traditional formula. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2 pilot trial, YH1 was administered as an add-on to stable oral hypoglycemic therapy in patients with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes; a subsequent small observational study examined associations between YH1 treatment, glycemic and lipid measures, gut microbiota, and bile-acid profiles.
