**YH1177** is an investigational Yuhan otic fixed-dose antibacterial solution containing piperacillin and tazobactam, developed for otitis media with otorrhea in patients with tympanostomy tubes or tympanic-membrane perforation. Piperacillin is a broad-spectrum ureidopenicillin that covalently inhibits bacterial penicillin-binding proteins and thereby disrupts cell-wall synthesis; tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor intended to protect piperacillin from enzymatic degradation. In the registered Phase 2 study, non-dexamethasone piperacillin/tazobactam otic arms were evaluated alongside separate dexamethasone-containing YH1177-D arms; the study was terminated.
