Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**YH23537** is an orally administered investigational herbal medicine developed by Yuhan for chronic periodontitis and knee osteoarthritis. It is a defined combination of extracts from Notoginseng Radix and Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, developed through an optimized extraction process intended to retain the chemical profile of the earlier Yuhan candidate YH14642 while improving extraction efficiency. In preclinical periodontal models, YH23537 reduced lipopolysaccharide-stimulated interleukin-6 and interleukin-8 secretion in human gingival fibroblasts and improved periodontal clinical measures in dogs; its direct molecular target has not been established. Yuhan completed Phase II studies in chronic periodontitis and knee osteoarthritis. ([scienceopen.com](https://www.scienceopen.com/document?vid=21ffe961-fbdb-4a93-b3ac-ef2656fb0472))
