Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YH40863 is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) dual receptor agonist under development by Yuhan. It targets both the GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and the GDF15 receptor (GDNF family receptor alpha-like, or GFRAL) to achieve synergistic effects on appetite suppression, body weight reduction, and glycemic control. In preclinical animal models of obesity and type 2 diabetes, YH40863 has demonstrated potent and sustained weight loss, improved lipid profiles, and enhanced glycemic control, outperforming several mono-component and dual-agonist comparators. It is being investigated for the treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
