YH4808

YH4808 is a novel, orally administered small molecule potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed for the treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer disease. It works by selectively inhibiting the H+,K+-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. Clinical studies have shown that YH4808 provides rapid and sustained inhibition of gastric acid secretion with a faster onset than proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole. It has demonstrated efficacy in maintaining intragastric pH above 4 for longer periods compared to standard therapies and is being investigated as an alternative to PPIs in regimens for *Helicobacter pylori* eradication.
