YHD1119

YHD1119 is a once-daily sustained-release (SR) oral formulation of pregabalin developed by Yuhan Corporation. It utilizes a proprietary floating and swelling gastroretentive drug delivery system to prolong gastric retention and provide controlled release of pregabalin over more than 12 hours. This design addresses the narrow absorption window of pregabalin and allows for convenient once-daily dosing. The active ingredient, pregabalin, is a gabapentinoid that modulates the alpha-2-delta subunit (CACNA2D1) of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability. Clinically, YHD1119 has demonstrated non-inferior efficacy to immediate-release (IR) pregabalin in treating neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), postherpetic neuralgia, and spinal cord injury. It is approved for peripheral neuropathic pain in South Korea[1][2][3].
