Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi-Dan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, specifically an external ointment, used for the treatment of acute pancreatitis. It is derived from the Dahuang-Mudan Decoction and includes active components such as Moutan Radicis Cortex (containing paeonol) and Borneolum Syntheticum. The therapeutic effects of Yi-Dan ointment are believed to involve improving pancreatic microcirculation, inhibiting inflammatory reactions, promoting intestinal peristalsis, relieving pain, restoring the intestinal barrier, enhancing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, inducing apoptosis of acinar cells, strengthening immunity, and mitigating calcium overload. Its mechanisms may also include the inhibition of signaling pathways such as HMGB1/RAGE/NF-κB, TLR4/MYD88, and PI3K/AKT.
