Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi-Fei San-Jie Pill (YFSJ) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula widely used as an adjunctive therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in China. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients and has been validated in clinical studies for its efficacy in NSCLC treatment[1][4]. YFSJ exerts anti-tumor effects through several mechanisms, including inhibition of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), suppression of tumor angiogenesis, promotion of apoptosis, and inhibition of cell proliferation[1][2][4]. Mechanistically, YFSJ targets key signaling pathways such as the EGFR/p-p38 MAPK/GSK3β axis and the PI3K/AKT pathway to suppress EMT and enhance sensitivity to targeted therapies like gefitinib[1][4]. Additionally, it alleviates chemotherapy-related fatigue by reducing oxidative stress and skeletal muscle injury via modulation of the AMPK/mTOR pathway[3][5]. The formula contains herbs such as Mao Zhua Cao (Herba Hedyotidis Diffusae), Shan Ci Gu (Bulbus Cremastrae seu Pleiones), and Ling Zhi (Ganoderma lucidum), which contribute to its anti-cancer properties by inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and supporting immune function[2].
