Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi Qi Jian Pi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions, specifically stable angina pectoris and coronary heart disease. It is indicated for patients presenting with the TCM syndrome of spleen deficiency and phlegm-dampness. The formula's therapeutic strategy focuses on supplementing Qi and strengthening the spleen to resolve phlegm and improve blood flow to the myocardium. Mechanistically, it is thought to exert cardioprotective effects by modulating inflammatory cytokines, improving lipid metabolism, and enhancing vascular endothelial function. It is typically administered as an oral decoction or granule and has been evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy in reducing angina frequency and improving symptoms such as chest pain and fatigue.
