Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi Qi Wen Yang decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic heart failure. Based on the TCM principle of supplementing Qi and warming Yang, the decoction is intended to improve cardiac function and clinical symptoms in patients with heart failure, particularly those presenting with Qi and Yang deficiency. In clinical research settings, it is often evaluated as an adjunctive therapy to the standard Western medicine Golden Triangle intervention strategy, which includes ACE inhibitors/ARBs/ARNIs, beta-blockers, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs). The formula typically comprises multiple herbal ingredients that work synergistically to enhance myocardial contractility, improve hemodynamics, and modulate neuroendocrine activation.
