Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi-qi-yang-yin-san-jie Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation used as an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of thyroid disorders. Developed and studied at Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, the decoction is formulated based on the TCM principles of tonifying Qi (Yi-qi), nourishing Yin (Yang-yin), and dissipating phlegm or nodules (San-jie). It is primarily investigated for its potential to improve clinical outcomes in patients undergoing microwave ablation (MWA) for BRAF V600E-positive thyroid microcarcinoma and concurrent benign thyroid nodules. The therapeutic goal of the decoction is to reduce the risk of recurrence and metastasis, inhibit the growth of remaining benign nodules, and support overall thyroid function and patient recovery post-ablation.
