It is specifically formulated to treat acute pharyngitis and other upper respiratory conditions associated with toxic heat syndrome, a TCM diagnostic category characterized by inflammation, fever, and localized swelling. The preparation is composed of several herbal ingredients known for their anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and heat-clearing properties, including *Isatis tinctoria* (Ban Lan Gen) and *Taraxacum* (Pu Gong Ying). As a hospital-made preparation (院内制剂), it is produced and dispensed under the regulatory oversight of the Shanghai Medical Products Administration for use within the developing hospital's clinical practice and its affiliated medical network.
