Overview
Yi Shen Qu Tong Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It is currently being investigated as an adjuvant therapy for patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). The formulation is designed to be administered alongside standard-of-care first-line treatments, specifically etoposide-platinum (EP) chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy (PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors). The name "Yi Shen Qu Tong" translates to "tonifying the kidney and dispelling pain," reflecting its traditional therapeutic intent to address constitutional deficiencies and manage cancer-associated symptoms. In clinical trials, it is being evaluated for its potential to enhance the efficacy of chemo-immunotherapy, improve patient quality of life, and mitigate treatment-related toxicities.
