Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi-Wei Xiao-Yu Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) and gastric precancerous lesions (GPL). The formulation is designed to nourish the stomach and resolve blood stasis, typically incorporating herbal ingredients such as *Pseudostellaria heterophylla*, *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, and *Curcuma phaeocaulis*. Mechanistically, it is reported to improve gastric mucosal blood flow, reduce the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-alpha and IL-8, and regulate the expression of apoptosis-related proteins Bcl-2 and Bax. These actions help to alleviate mucosal inflammation and potentially reverse intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia, thereby reducing the risk of progression to gastric cancer.
