YiaT232-hDR18 is a first-in-class antigen-specific immunotherapy being developed by Suzhou YiaT Biopharma for the treatment of Graves' disease. The therapeutic consists of a soluble, recombinant humanized HLA-DR18 molecule complexed with a specific peptide derived from the thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR). Its mechanism of action involves the induction of immune tolerance by presenting the TSHR autoantigen to autoreactive T cells in a manner that suppresses their pathogenic activity without compromising the broader immune system. This approach aims to address the underlying cause of Graves' hyperthyroidism—the production of thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins—potentially offering a more durable and targeted alternative to current antithyroid drugs or radioactive iodine therapy. YiaT232-hDR18 is currently being evaluated in early-stage clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and immunomodulatory effects.
