Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yifei Sanjie Fang (益肺散结方) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula used primarily for the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases and cancer-related complications. It has demonstrated clinical efficacy in alleviating cancer-related skeletal muscle atrophy by increasing skeletal muscle strength and weight, reducing muscle injury markers, lowering inflammatory cytokine levels, improving insulin sensitivity (notably via increased P-AKT), and enhancing glycogen and lipid metabolism in animal models. Mechanistically, it acts by reducing inflammatory infiltration, ameliorating insulin resistance, modulating lipid metabolism pathways, and promoting autophagy through upregulation of proteins such as Beclin1 and LC3-B. In the context of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), it reduces lung tissue inflammation and alveolar destruction by activating autophagy processes[1][3].
