Overview
Yifugelei is a small molecule P2Y12 receptor antagonist being developed by Shanghai CureGene Pharmaceutical. It acts as an antiplatelet agent by inhibiting the P2Y12 receptor on the surface of platelets, thereby preventing adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet aggregation. The drug is being developed in both injectable and oral formulations. The injectable formulation (HL102) is primarily intended for perioperative antiplatelet therapy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or mechanical thrombectomy and vascular intervention for stroke. The oral formulation is being developed for the treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), ischemic stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. The injectable form is currently in Phase 2/3 clinical development.
