Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiganling Drop Pills (益肝灵滴丸) is a hepatoprotective pharmaceutical product developed and manufactured by Nanchang Hongyi Pharmaceutical. The active ingredient is silymarin, a mixture of flavonolignans extracted from the seeds of the milk thistle plant (*Silybum marianum*). The drug is approved in China for the treatment of chronic hepatitis and persistent hepatitis. It functions by stabilizing liver cell membranes, preventing the entry of toxins, and stimulating nucleolar RNA polymerase I, which enhances ribosomal protein synthesis and promotes the regeneration of hepatocytes. Additionally, it exhibits potent antioxidant properties, scavenging reactive oxygen species and inhibiting lipid peroxidation to protect liver tissue from oxidative stress. The drop pill formulation is designed to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of the lipophilic silymarin complex.
