Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yigong Powder (also known as Yigong San) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula traditionally used to strengthen the spleen and regulate qi. It is a modification of the classic Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction), consisting of five herbal components: Panax ginseng (Ren Shen), Atractylodes macrocephala (Bai Zhu), Poria cocos (Fu Ling), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Gan Cao), and Citrus reticulata (Chen Pi). In modern clinical research, it is being evaluated for its potential to mitigate gastrointestinal side effects, specifically diarrhea, induced by targeted therapies such as the CDK4/6 inhibitor abemaciclib in patients with HR+/HER2- breast cancer. The formula is thought to improve digestive function and reduce inflammation in the gut.
