Overview
Yijingtongluo is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Eye Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, specifically formulated to treat retinal degeneration associated with high myopia (pathological myopia). The preparation is typically administered as oral granules and is designed based on the TCM therapeutic principles of 'benefiting essence' (Yijing) and 'unblocking collaterals' (Tongluo). It aims to improve blood circulation in the fundus, enhance the nutritional status of the retina and choroid, and provide neuroprotective effects to stabilize or improve visual acuity.
