Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yimitasvir is a novel, orally active small molecule inhibitor of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) nonstructural protein 5A (NS5A). It is primarily developed for the treatment of chronic HCV infection, particularly genotype 1. Yimitasvir acts by specifically inhibiting NS5A, a viral protein essential for HCV RNA replication and assembly. The drug has been studied in combination with sofosbuvir and has reached phase III clinical trials in China. It was originally developed by HEC Pharm and Dongguan HEC TaiGen Biopharmaceuticals[3][4][5][6]. The compound is also known as yimitasvir phosphate when formulated as its phosphate salt.
