Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yinchen Qingjin Fang (YCQJF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily developed for the treatment of acute gouty arthritis (AGA). Based on the TCM principle of clearing heat and resolving dampness, the formula typically consists of several herbal components, including *Artemisia capillaris* (Yinchen), *Fraxinus rhynchophylla* (Qinpi), *Phellodendron amurense* (Huangbai), and *Atractylodes lancea* (Cangzhu). Research indicates that Yinchen Qingjin Fang exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway, thereby reducing the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1β (IL-1β). It is also studied for its ability to regulate uric acid metabolism and alleviate joint swelling and pain associated with damp-heat syndrome in gout patients. The formula is frequently utilized as a hospital preparation, particularly at the Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Shanghai.
