Overview
Yinchengao Decoction + Ganlu Detoxification Pill is a combination therapy consisting of two classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulas: Yinchengao Decoction (Yinchen Hao Tang) and Ganlu Detoxification Pill (Ganlu Xiaodu Dan). Yinchengao Decoction is primarily used to clear damp-heat and alleviate jaundice, typically composed of *Artemisia scoparia*, *Gardenia jasminoides*, and *Rheum palmatum*. Ganlu Detoxification Pill is used to resolve dampness, clear heat, and detoxify, often applied in the treatment of seasonal febrile diseases and damp-heat syndromes. Together, this combination is frequently investigated in clinical practice for conditions characterized by severe damp-heat, such as acute icteric hepatitis, cholestasis, and certain viral infections like hand-foot-mouth disease. The mechanism involves anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, and choleretic effects, often mediated through the modulation of bile acid metabolism and the inhibition of inflammatory cytokines.
