Overview

Yindan Softgels (also known as Yindan Xinnaotong) is a botanical drug product derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), specifically a Miaoyao formulation. It is composed of extracts from nine herbal components: Ginkgo biloba leaf, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Panax notoginseng, Erigeron breviscapus, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Cassia seed, Crataegus pinnatifida, Garlic, and Borneol. The drug is primarily developed for the treatment of unstable angina pectoris, carotid atherosclerosis, and the sequelae of ischemic stroke. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to a multi-target mechanism involving anti-platelet activity (via PAF receptor antagonism), lipid-lowering effects (via HMG-CoA reductase inhibition), and anti-inflammatory properties. Axeon Research (Au) Pty Ltd sponsored a Phase 1 dose-escalation safety study in Australia to evaluate the product's safety and tolerability in healthy subjects, aiming to bridge the product into Western clinical development.
