Yining Pills (怡宁丸) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, affiliated with Capital Medical University. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of chronic insomnia, particularly cases associated with TCM patterns such as heart-spleen deficiency or liver-qi stagnation. The formulation is a complex mixture of herbs, including *Ziziphus jujuba* var. *spinosa* (Suan Zao Ren), *Poria cocos* (Fu Ling), and *Polygala tenuifolia* (Yuan Zhi), which are traditionally used to nourish the heart, calm the spirit (Anshen), and regulate the flow of Qi. As a hospital-made preparation (院内制剂), its clinical use is generally restricted to the developing institution and its medical network under specific regulatory approvals for TCM hospital formulas in China.
