Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yinlan Tiaozhi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) botanical drug product developed by the Beijing Chinese Medicine Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University. It is formulated as a capsule containing extracts of *Ginkgo biloba* leaf and *Gynostemma pentaphyllum*. The therapeutic focus is on primary hyperlipidemia, specifically addressing the TCM syndrome of 'turbidity and obstruction.' The active constituents, including ginkgo flavonoids and gypenosides, are thought to regulate lipid levels by modulating metabolic pathways such as AMPK activation and providing antioxidant protection to the vascular endothelium. The drug has been investigated in Phase II clinical trials in China to assess its lipid-lowering efficacy and safety profile.
