Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yinma Jiedu Granule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation composed of five medicinal herbs—licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis), honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica), rhubarb (Rheum palmatum), portulaca (Portulaca oleracea), and plantain. It is primarily used for the treatment of acute respiratory diseases such as acute bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, and has also been studied for its potential in treating COVID-19. The granule acts by clearing heat and detoxifying the body, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in lung tissue, relieving cough, eliminating phlegm, and supporting immune function. Mechanistically, it targets multiple pathways including mitogen-activated protein kinase 3 (MAPK3) among others involved in inflammation modulation[1][2][5][8].
