Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Huatan Sanjie Decoction (YQHTSJ) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula used primarily for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis and lung nodules. It is typically administered as a decoction or via nebulized inhalation. The formula contains multiple herbs with purported effects on "tonifying qi," resolving phlegm, and dispersing nodules. Preclinical studies indicate that YQHTSJ ameliorates bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in animal models by inhibiting the TGF-β/Snail signaling pathway, reducing collagen deposition, and downregulating fibrotic markers such as TGF-β1, Snail1, and Fibronectin[1][2][3][8]. Quercetin has been identified as an active component contributing to its anti-fibrotic effects[3][8]. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate its efficacy in treating lung nodules[9][10].
