Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Huayu Lishui recipe is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation prescribed based on the therapeutic principles of benefiting Qi, activating blood circulation to resolve stasis, and promoting diuresis to alleviate edema. In clinical literature, the name frequently refers to two distinct applications: a specific multi-herb formula known as the Qi-Fang-Xi-Bi prescription (consisting of Astragali radix, Stephaniae tetrandrae radix, Achyranthis bidentatae radix, Angelica sinensis radix, Atractylodis rhizoma, Eupolyphaga sinensis, and Epimedii herba) developed by Huadong Hospital and Longhua Hospital for knee osteoarthritis; and various hospital decoctions used as an adjuvant therapy for upper limb lymphedema following breast cancer surgery. The formulation works by modulating inflammatory pathways, reducing levels of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), Bax, and Fas, thereby protecting joint cartilage and reducing lymphatic fluid retention.
