Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi-Qi Hua-Yu Tong-Sui is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) decoction developed by the Department of Orthopedics at Longhua Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, specifically for the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). The formula is designed based on the TCM principles of supplementing Qi, resolving blood stasis, and unblocking the spinal marrow (Tong-Sui). It exerts neuroprotective effects by modulating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway to inhibit neuronal apoptosis and by reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-1beta. Clinical and preclinical research indicates that the formula can improve neurological function scores and local microcirculation in patients with chronic spinal cord compression.
