Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Jiedu compound is a traditional Chinese medicine formula being investigated for its anti-cancer properties. It is the subject of a clinical study in combination with the checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab for the treatment of chemotherapy-resistant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). [1] Preclinical research in mouse models of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has shown that the formula can inhibit tumor growth, reduce tumor weight and volume, and increase tumor cell apoptosis. [1] The mechanism of action is thought to involve immunomodulation of the tumor microenvironment. Specifically, it has been observed to promote the polarization of M1 macrophages and inhibit the overactivation of the NF-κB signaling pathway, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immunity. [1]
