Overview

Yiqi Jiedu Tang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction used as an adjunct therapy in oncology and for the management of diabetic complications. In patients with gastric cancer undergoing XELOX chemotherapy (capecitabine and oxaliplatin), the decoction has demonstrated immunomodulatory properties by significantly increasing the levels of CD3+ and CD4+ T cells while decreasing CD8+ T cells, thereby potentially enhancing the immune response and reducing treatment-related toxicity. Additionally, it is being investigated for its efficacy in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The formulation is based on the TCM principle of 'tonifying qi and detoxifying,' utilizing a complex mixture of herbs to restore physiological balance and support the immune system.
