Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Jiedu Tongluo Fang (益气解毒通络方) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula used primarily as an adjunct therapy in the treatment of advanced cancers, especially non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and for its potential benefits in diabetic retinopathy. The formula is based on TCM principles of "tonifying qi," "removing toxins," and "unblocking collaterals." It aims to address the TCM pathogenesis of deficiency, stasis, and toxin that are believed to underlie tumor progression. Clinical studies suggest it may improve patient quality of life, enhance efficacy and reduce toxicity when combined with chemotherapy or targeted therapies such as EGFR-TKIs in NSCLC patients[7][2]. In preclinical models, it has shown antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, improved glucose metabolism, protected retinal structure/function via modulation of pathways including p38 MAPK and VEGFR signaling[6]. The precise herbal composition can vary but typically includes herbs with functions to tonify qi (vital energy), activate blood circulation, detoxify the body, and unblock meridians.
