Overview
Yiqi Qingre Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University for the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). The formulation is specifically indicated for patients presenting with the 'lung and kidney qi deficiency' pattern according to TCM diagnostics. It is composed of five primary herbal extracts: *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Epimedium* (Yinyanghuo), *Rehmannia glutinosa* (Shengdi), *Polygonatum sibiricum* (Huangjing), and *Lilium brownii* (Baihe). The therapeutic rationale involves tonifying the lung and kidney systems while clearing heat to alleviate respiratory symptoms and improve lung function during acute exacerbations.
